You're playing Pokemon as a Table Top Game, its already anime & weeby as is, you could easily get a Honedge Katana and it would just be flavor thing, the Honedge still works the same as the regular sword one so no one really cares. I distinctly remember the PC who used that Katana Honedge just spammed Night Slash and did the whole anime cut through them sword slash thing and it was fine.
