you repeatedly fuck up and let the bad guys take the soulstones because everyone in the plot is a retard, you also find out the time police you're working for are kind of the same thing as the evil society except not really but regardless the time police are still evil, and once you fuck up and let the bad guys get a bunch of soulstones you decide to go beat up the evil society directly instead of trying to find all the soul keepers
