>>30742024It because if you take out the 1000 hours of grinding arbitrary numbers, pokemon is as shallow as a puddle. Once you reduce pokemon to its base gameplay, you get showdown. People aren't going to pay for just showdown.
Gamefreak need to pad the game out with stupid garbage or else the pokemon experience is broken.
