>>58584723>Hard to fit the Abrahamic Faith's into what is happeningThe Bible, at the very least, fits just fine.
Nonreligious people have a blind spot for how Christians would react to something like this, or alien life appearing. There wouldn't be any larger hiccup than what the rest of society was dealing with. It's not contradicting anything from the Bible. If anything, a lot of people would frame it as a miracle (or judgment, depending on the circumstances). It would embolden a lot of faiths because "oh wow, spirits sure seem to be real", "life after death seems to be confirmed", etc.
Hell, if the evolution mechanic was called literally anything else, Christian boomers wouldn't have grumbled about it in the 90s/early 2000s.
Not saying there isn't an argument for major religious disruption, but it's weak.

It feels like an an ass-pull to make them some uber-small sect that hates the pokeymans though, gotta say. Like a time machine back to 1998 rather than modern times. It's immediately apparent, as you said, you're not an expert at this stuff. Not everyone will notice, but some people will. The vocabulary, Bible verses, and ways religious people talk are all a bit off.
