It's fascinating how easy it is for the creators to write characters out of the story indefinitely when there's a new product that needs advertising. They just did the same thing in Tamagotchi about three episodes ago, putting the protagonists on a boat to the old character graveyard and replacing them with a rather-similar duo. And you know the same thing is probably going to happen to Clement, Serena, and Bonnie once Gen VI draws to a close.
You'd think that some portion of the target audience would care that a good chunk of the main cast is getting tossed aside so blatantly. Probably the ones who joined in near the middle or end of the generation. But I guess it's really not that big of a deal. It's a simple way of shaking the formulas up, at least for a little while.
