I'm saying think of it more as an ecosystem. A pond is more humid therefore it sets up a different habitat, one with more flowers, headbutt trees since flowers and trees like moisture. But big trees demand more sun light, thus they have fewer fauna around them, etc...
Seriously ya'll, watch Planet Earth or think of Alexander Von Humboldt's diagram. Habitat design is a real thing.
