>>34228618This I absolutely agree with, it's just so grating to see people shit talk on mons that do abuse the effect very well, but still think it's irredeemable garbage (then they get swept by said thing and blame it on bad luck).
Bitch, Ninetales and Snowtales wouldn't be no way near as great withouth Drought and SW respectively or pre-Gen 7 Pelipper in general. The same thing applies here, only problem is they have to set the terrain first to be effective. Is that factor alone enough to call them shit? Nope, Swapter can set Rain on its own and proceed to sweep everything that doesn't resist it. Why? Because it can live a hit. The same thing here with all of the mons that are very well known to be OTR mons, have a good typing or be bulky af or (best case scenario) be a perfect blend of both. Or just do what Stakataka does and have a busted synergy between a move, your stats and ability to wreck house.
Your shitmon bro if it doesn't fit in those criteria won't make good use of a field effect that other mons would benefit so much more of it. And no, I did brought up Crabominable before and yes, it has a fantastic OFFENSIVE typing. Defensive? What's that? And it's frail as it is anyway so you must swallow a hit first if you even want to do something. Escavalier is another case, but it's the direct opposite of Crabominable, great defensively, shite offensively (before any of you bring up Mega Sciz, SD + Technician + Mega Atk stat + priority, that's why it's such a scary mon if you let it unsupervised, also amazing synergy with U-Turn).
