Samurott if anything just doesn't meet expectations. It still expands the samurai clamshell otter theme. It even uses its helmet like a spear as Oshawot's shell was used like a weapon and a shield.

I blame Sugimori for not portraying the design properly. It probably would've been better received if he used a sword welding pose so people would see the idea of the design in a first glance. They really fucked up.

Design is solid, but movepool and ability needs some work. The biggest flaw that it's a STARTER. Would've gotten better treatment as a regular pokemon.
