>>14385589I think the biggest problem with Mega Evolutions is that, thus far, it's been made fairly clear that it's not just to give Pokemon who are desperately in need of it a boost.
I mean, when you have a Pokemon as good as Garchomp, literally the only way you can possibly go is DOWN. And what do you know, apparently Mega Garchomp is indeed not as good as a regular one.
In my mind Mega Evolutions should have been kept as upgrades to Pokemon who were a bit lacking in certain areas, rather than giving them out to Pokemon who were already in a good place. For some of them it's really more of a sidegrade or downgrade, which I don't think was the intended effect.
