Erika's Tangela is the only thing in the entire Celadon Gym that can damage a Grass/Poison type like Bulbasaur. EVERY other Pokemon in the gym, with no exceptions, will fall victim to the shitty gen 1 AI and compulsively spam PoisonPowder when they see a grass type of any sort. Even the Eggecute will turn stupid and forget it has Confusion. Tangela is the only thing in the gym immune this this because it only has two moves, Wrap and Constrict.
