my dad played GSC on an emulator after buying the games for my birthday, i vaguely remember his team

i think he also used sudowoodo for a while too
he liked grass pokemon best, because of how easy it was for them to beat on the big ugly rock types, who he imagined would be bullies sudowoodo was one exception to this rule, because it looked like a grass type
his favourite part of the game was watering the berries, because of the dialogue that came up
"watered the plant, the plant looked happy"
he also loved getting pokérus, and the dialogue where the seaweed in a jar in a market looks like it's ready to jump up and attack one reason he loved corsola was that it embodied this idea that anything in the pokémon world could be a pokémon, even weird exotic aquamarine coral structures, which now that i think of it, are similar to a plant too, right?
his view of the pokémon world was completely uninfluenced by the anime or any other aspect of the franchise, so i imagine he had a pretty loves time in there letting his imagination run wild
after RSE came out he tried emerald on an emulator too, but didn't enjoy it as much note that he actually played through red or blue and found it too clunky and boring he said emerald was no improvement, and a lot of the fun dialogue he loved seemed to be missing
the plants no longer looked happy
well dad, now that you're gone i visit your memorial everyday, and believe you me, the plants there always look happy
