Sword is the weirdest Pokemon game I've ever played, you're able to beat it in 8 hours, but the game encourages you to spend as much time in the wild area as possible so the reality doesn't kick in that the game is a waste of time and you're not really gaining anything from wandering around said area.
It's like it has potential to be great, but it isn't actually great, and we all know Game Freak isn't going to live up to the expectations of how great this could be.
