I didn't realize it was a mythical until people pointed that out, I honestly don't really know what makes it special enough for that category. Marshy is a cute nickname, and its adorable that Lila thought it was her imaginary friend.
Even if it wasn't brainwashing and kidnapping them, its still not a great situation all around. It being able to live in shadows, maybe it feels more comfortable when its completely dark, and that's why it wanted to play at night? It seems pretty childish and naive, so a scolding is probably due, but I don't think it was intentionally being malicious like the Chandelure was.
I'll also echo that it felt strange for Isaac to immediately start shooting after feeling so apprehensive about it before the encounter.
As for suggestions, I like the idea of checking up on his mother. "The Talk" about what's been going on still needs to happen, and I feel like she knows more than Isaac realizes. Could make for an interesting scene.

I want to write, I have ideas for characters and plot, but once I open my document for S&W I either get intimidated by the scope, agonize over details and story beats, wonder if anyone would even think its any good, or just lose all energy. Feeling very stuck, but still chipping away. Its very slow compared to my already slow writing cadence. Idk, maybe once the holidays pass I'll get some motivation back, but right now it feels like I'm writing more out of wanting to provide content for the thread rather than actually having fun with it.
