I feel like he'd do anything to hold onto that, especially after the events in Area Zero, like how he was willing to do whatever he could to save Mabosstiff. I really admire his determination to do whatever it took, even if he was terrible at Pokemon battles and going into Area Zero even though it was dangerous and off limits. I really adore him.
