>>41508879If I had to guess why you don't want to put any more time into the game it's probably for the same reason I don't. In the past one could look at getting any pokemon with good stats or the right aesthetic (like pokeball caught in or shinyness) to be an achievement. When I was a child in the 2000's I read on serebii about IVs and worked really hard to catch a gengar with good IVs in lavender town in Fire Red, after about a month or so of searching during my drive to school I finally found a timid natured Gastly with 30 speed Ivs, and 28 Special attack IVs, the rest of the IVs ranged from 23-27. If you can imagine this was very exciting, and the best part was that this gengar could be traded forward to every future installment of the game. This gengar has done the full world tour in the past 15 years, it has done Mt. Battle twice, all of the Orre tournaments, every battle facility it was allowed in, many gen 4 online battles on PBR, Wi-fi battles on Gen 5. It was very frustrating when they added the symbol restriction to online starting in X and Y but the online was robust, and it could be overlooked at the time. The fact that these games have literally NO content to do in game that is deeper than a puddle (a gimped battle tower, no other battle facilities or memorable challenges) in addition to the fact that gamefreak claims there will be a """""rotating roster"""""" kills any motivation to catch pokemon beyond the bare necessity. What's the point after all? There's nothing to do with these pokemon, no in game facilities, the Online is the worst it's ever been (and the lifespan of the games is dubious at best, will people still even wi-fi battle in significant numbers in 3 months? who can say.) Why waste the hours of your life away if you will get absolutely nothing in return for it, no entertainment, just dismay and disappointment.
