Realized what shinies were years later and kicked myself.
Second: Encountered a shiny Joltik in my first playthrough of Pokemon White. Was really excited since Electrics are my favorite types next to Psychics, and I could add her to my team. This was maybe 2014 or 2015.
Third: After transferring my Joltik and Pokerus Swanna to White 2, I restarted White for another playthrough. This was just last week. The Professor Juniper intro had a motherfucking shiny Minccino and I was furious.
Encountering 3 shinies over a lifetime, and deleting one and being unable to catch another, is truly infuriating.
