Just compare the nu-anime to the OS, in which legendaries were so fucking legendary that Oak wouldnt believe that Ash could possibily have merely SEEN a Moltres even for a few seconds.
This lack of "over the top" bullshit is what I liked in Pokemon (compared to digimon and yu-gi-oh) as a kid.
Simpler designs, lower stats....etc
But nowdays we have overdesigned trash like Necrozma and Eternatus, and even utter shitmons have 200HP in the TCG...
