It does have similar profile obviously anthropomorphised, but the thin body, huge head and spindly limbs are there. What I find most compelling is that bacteriophages have a strucutre called a 'collar'- which has been literalized and expanded on in UB, as the ruffled collar is a prominent part of it's design. I wasn't convinced myself that Burst resembled a virus, but when saw that they have a 'collar' it just clicked.
Obviously fits the invasive species theme too. Opens the possibility of Poison type up potentially but I wouldn't miss it if it wasn't.
