I get that they wanted to adapt the part of the BW games where Bianca's dad tries to get her to go back home, but this wasn't the greatest way. Her dad in the game wasn't in favor of it, and Bianca went behind his back to leave Nuvema Town. Here he let her go off (at like, 16) and then said "nah" because a thing that she wasn't involved in happened. Also he met with Elesa ahead of time, knowing Bianca would challenge the Gym, and Elesa said, "yeah, you can hang out here until your daughter shows up and then convince her to go home." I can let most of that go anyway, but instead of Elesa talking sense into him, some how the plot involves Ash:
>Trying to convince Bianca's dad
>Being shut down by the slightest bit of flawed logic
>Challenging him to a battle to settle things
>Losing the battle (and therefore having to go back to Pallet Town)
>Lashing out at Iris for mentioning that he lost
>Bianca's dad coming around anyway based on reasons that Ash could've put up long before
He sure is a credit to his species.
