I think this means that every Trial Captain will have their own Totem Pokemon at the end of their trials.

Totem Lurantis and Mallow's(grass type) trial are both taking place in Lush Forest.

If we take this into consideration, this means we have just as much Totem Pokemon as Trial captains, as well as push the fact that there is a Normal Type Trial Captain with Totem Gumshoos

It does sound weird why they tell us their typing if we don't but they tell you other than battling, meaning at some point some of them will be battled

Though it doesn't matter to me if you do battle them or not

I'm honestly satisfied enough with battling Totem Pokemon and the Kahuna's

I really liked the idea of battle a boosted Pokemon who can call summons

Hey, wait a second, the Totem Gumshoos has an aura of some sort.

What if, similar to Z crystals, there's a type of crystal that grants your pokemon an aura too as a minor power boost? Maybe that's how Greninja transforms.

Gumshoos and his summon Yungoose with either have Strong Jaw or Stakeout, both of which will fuck you over if your not prepared.
