Why do people delude themselves into thinking that Diamond and Pearl remakes are not only not going to be lesser than Platinum and even the originals (due the precedent set by ORAS) but also the savior the of the franchise in any capacity?
As if because they make this nostalgic stop-gap that appeals to a very niche group of people (why it will actually sell less than the originals) it's going to have a positive influence in the future? And the features old and new on it not become one of those things that are completely scrapped the very next game? (Secret Bases and Contests in came back in ORAS but not to stay)
And keep in mind once they are done remaking the "good old games" in their bastardized form, they are just going to re-release all of the 3D games as HD remasters, with slight graphic revamps and mechanics but identical structure, and the soul of the series will be gradually fade after cycles and cycles of regurgitation.
