>>55458009exactly my thoughts, it kind of feels like youtube shiny hunting got infected by how people ramped up their reactions to horror games around the time (hell the first four fnaf games were released around ORAS to SU/MO and videos on people screaming their lungs off at them and the early fangame scene were everywhere before calming down in recent years for stuff like reviews orautistically grinding out the max modes). i don't mind if you get money from doing it passively but once you start treating it as a job and not some stupid nerdy hobby for autists then there's a problem.
i'm almost certain it mostly died down is just because swsh's knockout method was barely a method unless you wanted to wait only for the brilliant mons, and even then some just cried back to masuda method anyway.
