>>53434055>>53432272>I've got my own question. What is your favorite pokemon?Still a tie between Sandslash and Haxorus.
>Also, tell me a little more about why that is.For Sandslash, it’s mostly just design. It’s that perfect balance of cute, cool, and dangerous and I really just love its execution. It also helps that I the one I stole in Fire Red Rocket Edition as a placeholder in my team ended up sweeping EVERYTHING with Swords Dance + Earthquake and some token coverage that I can’t remember. That really endeared it to me and prompted me to reevaluate its design, which I now love as a result.
As for Haxorus, I consider it my honorary starter. When I was playing through Pokémon Black, I got stuck on Elesa and wasn’t getting past. It was pretty frustrating, and my dumb child brain ended up just going to one of three friends I’ve ever made (and the only one who liked Pokémon, ever) and asking for help. He said okay, and ended up trading me this cool-looking, freshly-caught dragon named AXEY (all caps just like that lol). I thanked him, and Axey then proceeded to sweep the entire gym no problem.
He went on to help sweep pretty much everything else, and became the first (and only) Pokémon I’ve ever leveled to level 100.
I still have him today on my childhood flashcard. I’m so glad it was a flashcard, too, because now even if the cartridge goes kaput I’ll always have a backup of my best friend for life. It’s also let me take pic related.
He’s also pretty much the only remnant I have of any of my friends now, so he’s become even more special as time has gone on.
Someday I’ll trade him up to BW2 and take on the PWT with him. Some day…
