Living in exile on Earth as a wanderer, as he aged slower than normal humans, the plot would've had Team Flare searching for him since he holds the key to the super-weapon that can destroy Earth, like in the final version, but in this version was the flower the special Floette holds, as the two were not separated in this version but remained friends.AZ's Floette was one of the most seemingly underdeveloped parts of XY, and its design and unique flower was not explained in XY itself (as far as I remember anyway). While I don't have much to verify the AZ part of this post with, the idea of the Eternal Flower being a superweapon is backed up by Light of Ruin, the unreleased signature move AZ's Floette has, as well as unreleased Pokedex data in SM and USUM released years after this post. If we take this post at face value - with the flower having a key to be used - this version of the Eternal Flower may have been closer in design and purpose to the final Ultimate Weapon. AZ's Floette being AZ's friend might have also meant that she would've been planned to fight on his team at one point, which may be one of the reasons why AZ's Floette was ever implemented in the game data at all - but that's speculation.
