>>46657542I can only assume that people who compare Hop to Hau just mindlessly mashed through all their dialogue, because the context of their character arcs is completely different: Hau masks his insecurities with a fake smile and a refusal to take anything seriously, because if battling is just a fun little game then he can't ever do poorly and thus won't disappoint his grandfather, while Hop is TOO aggressive in the opposite direction, so determined to emulate Leon to a T that he loses himself in the process and ultimately realizes that what he thought he wanted isn't necessarily what he's best at or what will make him happy. There's overlap with the concept of being in an older relative's shadow, sure, but it's a common trope and the actual nitty-gritty of their arcs is like night and day.
Also Hop is the better character overall
