It gives me enjoyment and if noone else participates I'll just do it for myself. That's what art is for after all. If I'll release the project someday as an open source I'll of course credit him. In my opinion the artwork doesn't belong to the artist anymore as soon as it is released into public and in some sense he already handled it the same way since one could make the point that he was "using" art that belongs to the pokemon franchise for his own artistic purposes without asking them for permission
