While riding the wind throughout Alola, a population of jumpluff found themselves atop a mountain with a constant sandstorm. The sand got caught in the cotton on its arms and head, forcing it to the ground as it was no longer light enough to float. Caked with sand and with sediment piling up on its cotton, it became a rock/ground-type pokemon.
It is difficult to move with the sediment weighing down its otherwise light, fragile body. because of this, jumpluff lost speed and gained defenses and power from the rock. For food, it waits for its prey to come into range, then attacks at full force.
