>>40937152It's not just Gamefreak though. Before Toby even announced his involvement with Gamefreak, he announced that he got to meet with Sakurai and they got Sans into Smash Bros
as a costume. Not only that, but Undertale port was pretty much expedited to the Switch and Toby's gotten special spotlights in Nintendo Directs for it. I'd say by this point, it's a Nintendo thing rather than a Gamefreak thing. They just thought he'd be best suited for GF to utilize at the moment, but expect to see more of his stuff appear in other Nintendo titles in the future.
You don't just pack up and move your whole life to Japan without even speaking the language unless you've got a pretty solid career plan.
