special is basically the magic stat in pokemon, as obviously with special atttacks the pokemon doesnt directly contact an opposing pokemon but instead uses some form of aoe or ranged attack. A special fighting move can be described as using ones skills to create shockwaves to impact an opposing pokemon.
besides, its vidya games. theres a certain segregation of story and gameplay to make for a fun balanced game where adhering to strict physical laws cuts back on creativity
