I'd be okay if he was a living goalpost that only gets mentioned towards the end, or a true king of the world that did things, at least some on-screen, that deserved that title. But the fact he's "better than everyone", treated as such since day 1 and also a living goalpost character-wise feels like a writting problem, especially since we also see characters who have been around longer and we've seen doing great things. The only thing I can think of that could be an attempt at a solution to what I'm saying is that one time he beat Lance on-screen, but that's it, he fucks up in the whole eternatus incident, and the next thing he does, pretty much a season later, is bake a fucking cake.
If they were going to add a champion of the world, they should have made it someone who acted the part, he's only champion of the world because every character tells us that but we never see it!
