I've seen people say crystal is cooler than HGSS because of early game phanpy, a pokemon whose only ground type attack with be mud-slap until 45.
Golbat doesn't learn wing attack until 30, heracross' only fighting move is reversal, Xatu lul, jumpluff lul, Ledian lul, Ariados lul, Noctowl lul
I could go on but I won't. Obviously you don't need mons with 100 BP stab moves to beat in game but there is also a level of what were they thinking here that you cannot ignore
