>>34718986Huh. I assume you were just starting from zero? Two years ago I got almost all of my cards from gen 1 for free. I just asked my MtG friends for their old cards and almost everyone just gave me their cards, asking for nothing in return. I even got Charizard, Venusaur and all those fun things for free. I bought a few missing cards from the first four expansions (around 10 or so) and after that I was already blinging out my cube by adding promo cards and Japanese exclusives. But the two Gym expansions were ridiculously hard to complete for a cube because not a lot of people sell the commons and the uncommons. But right now I need only three more individual cards and a few uncommons for drafting purposes. (My Gym cube is not balanced. It's basically the entire set in sleeves with rares having a single copy in the cubes, uncommons two, and commons three. Some trainer cards have four or more copies.)
