>>13579363Pokemon aren't like animals, for the most part. With a dog, a person can mistreat it and abuse it, and the dog has no say in it, as awful as it can be.
However, let's say, for example, we have a little Mawile. Mawiles, presumably, eat other pokemon in nature. Are you telling me that a Mawile, which can "chew through iron bars", wouldn't attack an abusive trainer?
Let's take another example. Trainers can own great, legendary pokemon, like Arceus (the God of the Pokemon universe) and Uxie (who can erase anyone's memory just by looking at them). Why would a legendary, omnipotent pokemon just deal with abuse when they can easily kill a human?
Besides, it's much better for a pokemon to fight in sport than have to live out in the wild. Out in the wild, there are pokemon (like Mawiles) that can easily eat them and kill them. Trainers prevent their pokemon from getting killed in the wild.
Also, pokemon abuse is a high crime in the pokemon world. In the anime, there have been several cases in which some dick abuses a pokemon and they get arrested in the end.
tl;dr Pokemon don't get abused, and if they do they can generally stand up for themselves.
