Statues of Shibalbat can be found scattered around the region. In the daytime, Shibalbat looks like just another statue, and is not encounterable. At night, the glow of Shibalbat's inner fire gives it away, and if "talked" to, a battle with it will begin. Legend states that Shibalbat are guardians of the gate to the underworld. They appear to be statues until they are exposed to moonlight. Shibalbat is a living statue, and engage in battle only after talking to the Pokemon at night.
Shibalbat takes inspiration from flightless, climbing bats, south american statue aspects, as well as inner internal lava being kept inside Shibalbat.
