Houndoom had a Mega so I'll skip that one, but Electivire and Dusknoir are the end of three stage lines that require quite a bit of work to get, there's no reason for them to be as worthless as they are. Why Does Electivire lose speed, What does Lame Freak have against Physical Electric types? Why is Dusknoir is worse than its prevo? that completely violates the entire idea behind, evolution? That's like Gyardos evolving into Magikarp.
Then there's the obviously bad mons. Spinda at least as the spot gimmick to work as a joke mon. But Ledian's stats are completely inexcusable even for an early game bug. and
Tropius is too late in the game to be as shitty as it is.
This also doesn't explain why some starters are so much better than others. It's not a matter of some starters being a bit better; it's some starters are literally the best Pokémon in the game (Venusaur) and others pretty much brought up whenever shitmons are discussed (Meganium). Seriously? Leaf Guard? it doesn't even have a Leaf, Typhlosion is objectively worthless but at least Flash Fire makes sense and gives it some use. It also doesn't help that Johtomons as a whole just seem be have been made weaker than mons from every other region. The region already gets crap due to being having KANTOOO surgically attached to it and now this? What is Lame Freak trying to say here?
