Rick's experience had managed to bring him many wins, setting him in the semifinals against a great trainer named Asteria.
This trainer was from the faraway region of Unova, and thus Rick had no knowledge of her fighting style or her Pokemon. Despite his best efforts he was defeated, while Asteria went on to win the Sinnoh Pokemon league.
