If someone were to ask me if there were any MUST SEE episodes of SM thus far I would only recommend 1 and that would be the Ash VS Misty episode. Everything else has just felt... Like nothing. That's not to say the series is bad, it's just it feels like nothing has happened since the start of the series. Ash hasn't even properly captured a Pokemon yet where he battles it and gets it in a Pokeball, all of his captures have been passive captures so far.
The fillers are interesting, but it all ultimately comes around to nothing interesting happening. The trials, Kahuna fights, and UB's are all obviously leading to something but without a proper destination at the end of it it all feels pointless. Like what happens when Ash completes the trials? We have 0 idea right now.
