Personally, I've always liked the idea that all pokemon perform an attack differently than another might. For example for a Pokemon using Aura Sphere, it might be a ball of aura, but for a Pokemon like Lucario or Mega Lucario or a Pokemon with powerful Aura Abilities its a beam instead. Or how a Raboot kicks rocks to trigger moves like an ember or Flame Burst.
Other cool things would be a dance-based pokemon dancing to trigger moves rather than the normal method.
