As for Lillie, that line is meant to convey admiration, and again, Lillie saying she wants to be like a boy would seem off. Besides, Lillie would likely travel with MC regardless, even Chicken, and would want to learn from MC regardless, even Elio.
Tl;dr; minor changes. Don't amount to much. Story was likely written with male MC in mind, but gives a few characters bisexual undertones since Shauna/Lillie/Marnie are close to MC
