>>39608984That's honestly a great question. I always assumed it was for the first letter of it's name, but that makes no sense considering the name was regionalized well after the design was finalized.
I looked into the Onamazu on whom Whiscash is based, but I didn't find any hints.
My wild guess: Maybe it's supposed to be a crown? Like "king of the catfish?"
