>>58604318Your dream sequences are so good. I love that the Kartanon essentially anthropomorphized the instincts as a way to understand them. They view them as an individual but understand that they are part of the same whole. It gives a mix of advice from their Kartana side as well as things Kartanon already knew from previous studies, but never really gave much thought. Rather than be this antagonist, they view the instincts as a friend or mentor. It’s basically the complete, utter opposite of Simon. This is good stuff dude, really excited to learn more from ‘the swordsman’.
>>58604437God damn, this is so good holy shit!! Exactly how I pictured that scene when writing it. I super appreciate it. It’s been so cool to see you bring all these scenes from different stories in the thread to life.
>>58604515I really like what I see from this wip slice. Can already tell how eccentric and disconcerting this scientist guy is, and imagine what kind of trouble he gets up to. Even Val, wounded in the middle of nowhere, doesn’t want this guy’s help. I sure as shit probably wouldn’t unless I was truly desperate.
I give feedback because I like your stuff and want to see more, and I know how it feels to get stuck on an idea you want to write, but need help exploring it. Honestly, even I had no idea the rentry was being updated. With all the stories to keep track of, it’s a lot of work to go through each link to check if something was updated. I guarantee a lot of people are missing Val updates because of that. I would paste your rentry in a post saying you have a new update / chapter so people are aware it happened and can just immediately jump to it.
In terms of ‘is it worth it to continue Val’, you clearly want to write it and get past your ch 2 curse. So yeah, if you’re still enjoying the idea of Val’s journey, it’s worth it. Maybe a smaller project on the side could help give a break and refresh your creative juices.
