>>48843558MMOs are known for their large overworlds and usually fairly early access to warp tools for faster travel, plus some kind ride to make walking a little faster. Temtem's maps are just slightly longer Pokemon routes and you don't get access to a warping tool until the end of Island 5, which is currently the most recent Island as the game is still in early access (story progresses from Island to Island). And being that it's an MMO it's grindy as fuck so you won't get to the end of Island 5 until about 30 hours into the game. There's no quicker mode of foot travel either yet, but they're planning to introduce "rides" at a later date.
Quests have no depth. Every quest can pretty much be summed up as "talk to NPC, go talk to another NPC, maybe have a battle along the way, here's your reward."
MMOs are naturally grindy but Temtem takes it to the extreme to the point where it gets mind numbingly boring and tedious.
Chat functions and player interaction functions are fairly limited. You need to befriend someone to DM them for example. Also the chat is censored so no naughty words.
Only reason I have 200 hours in this is because I'm a shiny hunting fag and shiny hunting is actually decent in this.
