Would be a pretty decent setting honestly, a large landscape of jungle with ruins and modern cities sounds a lot more fun than a tiny landscape of random ass biomes. If we got a super big region I hope we would get an equally large dex to match or it will get boring encountering the same thing on every route, 100ish already feels repetitive on a small region.
