Here's another one that doesn't sacrifice any of either attacking stat: Notice Beedrill's 80 base Special Defense. Oddly high in comparison with its other defensive stats, no? Especially since it's an early game bug and a lot of common special attacks are in types it's weak to and will just paste it regardless. Take 35 away from that Special Defense -- returning it to 45, the value of its base Special in Gen I -- and add 26 to Speed and 9 to Attack. Beedrill now has a trollish base Speed and a useable if not especially impressive base Attack, so while it won't be good, it will at least get a hit in rather than just being sweeper fodder. And the only cost is making its defenses as good as they were in Gen I.
