In middle school I abandoned my best friends from elementary school and started hanging out with other people. I know it's very childish to think we'd stay friends forever, but I always thought we'd grow up together at least.
Sometimes I wonder about what it would be like to reconnect with them all again, but I know we're too far gone to be friends again; we're just different people now. I would do anything for any of them in a heartbeat, but I also say that knowing that they'd never ask anything of me.
