I used to make fun of the notion that Pokemon needs a story since GameFreak was super bent on trying to tell this END OF THE WORLD tale every time. But the fact that I actually remember most of the main cast's names in SV and I was genuinely interested to see what was going to happen when Kieran saw Terapagos means GameFreak was right in focusing on story elements.
It's only been recently that I gave a shit about their stories, though. I briefly forgot your rival's name in Sun/Moon and called him Goh.
