I was too stupid of a kid during gen 1-2 to really even pay attention to sprites, all I knew was some starters did more damage than other starters
the only sprite i ever really paid attention to was venusaur, it was the first time I ever looked at a sprite and said "what the FUCK is that shit"
seriously until today i always thought that top part was the head and the sprite was some kind of missingno-tier glitch shit, causing venusaur to look like some kind of square unicorn
