I don't even think anything related to the whole "the protagonist is actually 6+ souls crammed into one body because of garufan space magic" stuff even happens before the chapter 8 climax after the player gets lavadunked despite there still being a perfectly healthy arcanine/silvally/whatever on the field that could protect the player from being shoved into a volcano
and speaking of idiot ball holding, what stops the player from just dunking the two xen admins present into the lava? would save a lot of hassle later on, and surely there's a bounty on those admins' heads that could be claimed for a hefty reward (that would pale in comparison to getting to hang out with one of the few normal characters in the game and then see something really cool that Amber wants to show the player and - nevermind, that fucking dyke ruined it)
but I can probably save my rant about how Rejuvenation's plot is only held together by cutscene retardation for later.
