If you don't feel confident running a type because it doesn't have as many powerhouses as you want it to have, don't run it. Simple as that. Bitching about not having access to Zapdos and Thunderus ain't gonna change shit except make you look like a whiny baby.
I didn't run electric for the challenge, I ran it because it's my favorite type and includes my favorite pokemon. If you want to run something badly enough, you'll find a way to do it. And I don't think you wanted to run electric that much, given that you abandoned the idea of it so easily.
And tough luck to Grvio, but that's how the tournament goes sometimes. Maybe you can look at your team again and make improvements to your composition based on the battles you had.
