>>48931773Regular one way ledges. I’ll admit it actually will look rather mundane but I can’t allow the player to climb any amount of wall because that would be game breaking. Also I really don’t like how HMs or their equivalents in Pokémon usually just amount to getting rid of/ bypassing a specific obstacle, like cut or rock smash. I’m going to try to be more creative with my “keys” like there’s gonna be an item called snow shoes that not only allows you to walk over deep snow normally but allows you to scale hills of pure snow which you’d otherwise be unable to do without sinking into it, which will unlock various sorts of short cuts and areas. Likewise I’m going to have strength be in the game but there will be multiple different types of obstacles. Like at first you just push rocks out of the way, but later in the game there’s gonna be like, fallen logs that are 3 tiles long. Pushing the middle just nudges it forward and pushing either the left or the right will cause that end to rotate 45 degrees, leaving the other end in the same spot, like a clock hand, which could allow for some really tricky puzzles. I’m still in the conceptual stage but that’s the sort of thing I’m going for with all of them, bar maybe fly which is ultimately just a tool for convenience.
